There are times in our lives that we truly want to change and do something different for ourselves. We tend to measure our ability to do those things with time. You may have said the following to yourself at some point:
- ”If I were better with managing my time, I would be able to meet that deadline”
- “If I had more time, I would accomplish my goals”
- “If I made more time to accomplish my goals, I would feel better about myself”
When we are able to take one step towards our goals, we are more likely to take another towards getting it done. So, to some extent, this notion of managing time is very real.
What I know to be true is that managing time is important; however, managing your energy is even more important and critical in accomplishing your goals. In Energy LeadershipTM, we refer to energy being anabolic (positive and healthy) or catabolic (negative and unhealthy). The combination of these two energies can either work for or against you in accomplishing your goals. When you are aware of how this energy is playing a role in your life, you become more mindful and aware as to how to modify behaviours so that the universe works in your favour.
